Ethical Behavior

Life Lesson of the Day: Ethical Behavior

Being ethical or practicing ethical behaviors such as dignity, kindness,  honesty, and fairness not only benefit the person or people you are interacting with but yourself and society as a whole as well. Make an effort to practice these four things in your daily life!

1. Dignity: Are you worthy of respect? When posting to social media or speaking do you present yourself in a way the deserves respect? If not, you are denying yourself the opportunity of being heard.

2. Kindness: Kindness seems to be such a simple concept however it is not always practiced in the realm of social media. Kindness should always be the forefront of every dealing you have with a person either it be in person or on social media.

3. Honesty: One must first be honest with oneself. Honesty is  an integral part of integrity and morality which defines who we are in our core. Ultimately ones ability to be honest will being the key factor that determines how trustworthy people perceive them to be.

4. Fairness: Ask yourself, "am I being fair?" Making judgements based in discriminatory biases will prove to be detrimental to success in business, impede friendships, and stunt personal growth.

Be ethical! Be Blessed!

Life Lesson of the Day: Critical Thinking

Twixxy Starr's (my alter ego the desire to fix the world) Life Lesson of the Day: Critical Thinking!

Instead of reacting emotionally to something you disagree with try applying the critical thinking skills below.

1. Suspend judgment to check the validity of a proposition or action. Fact check everything! Do you research. Educate yourself before opening your mouth. Facts always win against uneducated & emotion based opinions.

2. Take into consideration multiple perspectives. Everyone has a different outlook based on preconceived notions that they had learned through personal experience. Step outside of your own to master any conversation.

3. Examine implications and consequences of a belief or action. What are you going to accomplish by saying, posting, or commenting what you "feel"? Often times we speak, post, and comment to elicit a reaction from any given audience. We forget that reactions don't solve actual problems. Direct you efforts & energy to addressing problems in a constructive way!

4. Use reason and evidence to resolve disagreements. Armed with the facts and devoid of emotion one can effectively and efficiently resolve conflicts and disagreements. Often times this can evoke true change.

5. Re-evaluating a point of view in light of new information. Remain open minded when evaluating and given situation. Regardless of how smart you think you are you do not know all the facts or understand all the interconnections surrounding any given issue!

This concludes my life lesson of the day! Go do something amazing today. We change the world one person at a time!

Be Blessed!
